Darko Vlahović
He completed Grammar School in Split, graduated at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, and gained his master’s degree at the postgraduate study centre in Dubrovnik. He works exclusively in tourism concerning which field he has published some hundred scientific papers. In the last several years he has published three books and been co-author of two. He is particularly concerned with problems concerning the aggresive extension and saturation of urbanism, the dissolving of traditional authenticity and loss of identity in tourist regions. He also pays continual attention to the need for an improved system for organization of our unique tourist areas, and considers that Dalmatia – sea, shore and islands - should be more generally realised as objects of special national interest.
